‏מגדירים מספר ערוצים, קצב מדידה, ממשק ודרישת עובי רב־שכבתי. במשפחה בקרים עד ‎8, 10, 25‎ או ‎30 kHz‎ בתנאים שונים, ולכן שם המשפחה אינו מפרט אחיד.

‏לא. היצרן מתאר קליטה סינכרונית בקצב המלא בשני ערוצים בדגמים המוגדרים לכך, כגון ‎IFC2412‎ ו־‎IFC2417.‎ יש לבדוק את הדגם ומצב ההפעלה.

‏לא. עד ‎8 kHz‎ מתועדת עבודה בכל הטווח, אך ‎9–10 kHz‎ דורשים חלון מדידה מתאים. התאמה לקצב גבוה צריכה לשמר גם את כיסוי טווח העבודה הנדרש.

‏לא. קיימות גרסאות ממשק ואפשרויות באמצעות מתאמים. למשל בבקרי ‎IFC246x‎ מצוינים מתאמים אופציונליים ל־‎PROFINET‎ או ‎EtherNet/IP.‎ בוחרים לפי הדגם והפרוטוקול.

‏לא. חלק מהדגמים דורשים גרסת ‎Multi-peak,‎ ומספר השכבות משתנה לפי הבקר. יש לבחור לפי המפרט המפורש של הדגם ולא להחיל יכולת של חמש שכבות על כל המשפחה.
