Micro-Epsilon introduces the confocalLINE CLI8500 confocal line sensor
The CLI8500 provides 2,624 points per profile and internal evaluation for precise 3D profile measurements.
On 2 October 2026, Micro-Epsilon presented the confocalLINE CLI8500 confocal line sensor for 3D measurement. According to the manufacturer, it generates 2,624 measurement points per profile, with a Z-axis resolution of 0.2 µm and a measuring rate up to 2 kHz across the usable measuring range.
The technology also supports shiny and transparent surfaces. SMART mode runs a measurement program inside the sensor and transfers only the required result. The manufacturer lists PROFINET, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, GenICam and GigE Vision interfaces for integration into production lines and machine-vision systems.
