Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about our products and services
No. Check sensor and module pin assignments for the signal and excitation type. The QuantumX manual provides different connection diagrams for transducer technologies. The same connector housing can use different pins or require an adapter.
In the QuantumX measurement connections, the shield connects to the conductive connector housing as part of the chain shielding enclosure. Continuity and low-impedance contact at connection points help reduce interference. Follow manufacturer instructions rather than arbitrarily connecting the shield to a signal pin.
Yes. The QuantumX manual states that the electronic data sheet can be in the sensor or connector and also lists a plug kit with a TEDS device. Keep the data associated with the particular sensor and check that the instrumentation supports reading that configuration.
Check the explicit specification condition. For example, the INC5701 manual gives its protection rating in the connected state. Select compatible connectors and cables and assemble them as instructed. Do not assume the same protection applies when disconnected or with an unverified alternative connector.
Check polarity, pin assignment and supply voltage before connection. Relevant QuantumX modules allow sensor supply settings, and the manufacturer warns that an incorrect voltage can damage the sensor. A fitting connector does not replace checks of supply settings and sensor demand.
The QuantumX manual recommends physical separation of signal and data leads from power-carrying lines. Routing, shielding and grounding form part of connector and cable installation. If a shared route is necessary, check an appropriate separation and shielding arrangement using manufacturer guidance.
