A dedicated adapter may be required when the module input expects a full bridge and the application uses a quarter-bridge strain gauge. The QuantumX manual describes SCM-SG adapters for such a three-wire connection. Select the adapter for the approved gauge resistance, module and wiring diagram.
A TEDS plug kit includes a device for storing the sensor electronic data sheet. For example, the QuantumX manual lists such a kit with a D-Sub-HD connector. Compatibility still depends on sensor wiring and module support, not merely connector shape.
Check the supported synchronisation method and its required cable. In QuantumX, module-to-module FireWire connections also participate in synchronisation, while Ethernet synchronisation depends on suitable modules and infrastructure. A system cable should not be substituted merely because another cable can transfer data.
Use a dedicated adapter when the measured voltage requires one, matched to the module input and permitted measurement limits. The QuantumX manual specifies SCM-HV for particular modules within its rated specifications. It is not a universal extension for any DAQ input or voltage.
Check supply voltage, each sensor power demand and total module demand. The QuantumX manual notes that per-channel and per-module limits can cause supply shutdown when exceeded. Select the supply and power cable for the complete configuration rather than sensor count alone.
Yes. Cable shielding and its continuous connection to system connectors and housings help reduce electromagnetic interference. The QuantumX manual addresses all connection points in the chain. Select accessory cables and adapters for shielding and wiring as well as length and mechanical fit.
