Technology overview

Laser time-of-flight distance sensors provide non-contact measurement over long distances. Micro-Epsilon optoNCDT ILR series include configurations for diffuse targets or reflectors, depending on the model. Select the sensor for the target conditions, measuring range, accuracy, measurement rate and communication interface.

Quality and certification

Certified quality management, calibration certificates and calibration services at manufacturers’ facilities.

  • Every instrument is supplied with a calibration certificate.
  • Advanced calibration services at manufacturers’ facilities abroad, coordinated and supported by Elina.
  • The quality management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015. Certificate I31417 is valid until 7 April 2028.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions about our products and services

No. ILR3800-100 specifies up to 100 m on targets and 150 m with a reflector; select for the actual target.

No. They are separately specified. Compare each requirement with its corresponding specification rather than inferring accuracy from resolution.

No. Define reflectance, target size and any required reflector. Reflector reach is not necessarily the reach on the object itself.

No. ILR104x lists IO-Link, while ILR3800 lists other interfaces. Match model to acquisition system and connection components.

It is one requirement. Also check temperature, any required heating, ambient light and target properties. IP specifies ingress protection, not measurement reach.

On optoNCDT ILR3800, AUTO mode adapts measurement for dark, partially reflective or distant targets. Verify range and rate under the required target conditions; the mode does not guarantee the headline range on every surface.
