Types 4952 and 4952-A are designed for long-term unattended outdoor noise monitoring, with weather and corrosion protection.
The measurement system needs the appropriate linearization and filtering. Compliance is described for the recommended processing and configuration, not the microphone housing alone.
The upper windscreen and bird protection can be removed quickly to expose the microphone for acoustic calibration.
CIC enables remote verification of the microphone, preamplifier and cabling. TEDS supplies identification and transducer data to a supporting system.
The specification covers 0° and 90° reference directions. Select the corrections and filtering appropriate to the reference direction and measurement equipment.
