In the model table, 7 mm is the X-axis measuring range along the measurement line. The Z-axis height interval is 2.1 mm, from a 14.85 mm start to a 16.95 mm end. The line length must not be used as the Z-axis distance span.
The specification lists 2.7 µm in X and 200 nm in Z, with 2624 points per profile. Lateral and height resolution are distinct ratings. Neither substitutes for linearity or complete-measurement uncertainty.
The sensor measures a line profile. A 3D point cloud is assembled from successive profiles during relative sensor-and-target motion. The manufacturer describes trigger and encoder inputs; coordinate them with the application’s motion.
The catalogue distinguishes the PCR8500-x/OE-RJ45 multifunction cable, SCR8500X-x Ethernet cable and ECR8500-5 power cable. An adapter plate with a centring mandrel is also listed. Select the combination for the power, communication, I/O and cable-length requirements; not every accessory is automatically required.
