Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about our products and services
A transmitter and receiver evaluate the target’s shadow in the light field. Depending on model and evaluation mode, they measure dimensions such as diameter, gap or edge position. This is not triangulation distance measurement.
No. For example, optoCONTROL 2520 uses a laser, whereas optoCONTROL 2700 uses an LED. State the light source for the specific model.
No. Installation spacing and measurement-field width are different parameters. Check a diameter or gap against the model’s measurement field and positioning conditions.
No. Linearity, repeatability and resolution are separately specified under particular test conditions. A model’s digital resolution does not replace its linearity specification.
optoCONTROL 2700 documents a 15 kHz measuring rate and maximum 5 kHz output rate. Other models also specify bandwidth. Select by the signal path rather than the largest headline number.
