Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about our products and services
A charge sensor produces electrical charge proportional to acceleration and needs a suitable downstream charge amplifier. Do not assume direct connection to a voltage or IEPE input.
The sensing head can be separated from the amplifier electronics. For example, 8324 is documented for high-temperature use, while system suitability still depends on the selected cable and amplifier.
Match charge sensitivity, acceleration range and frequency band to amplifier gain and input range. The 8324 manual identifies dedicated amplifier accessories; check the exact configuration before connection.
No. They are model-specific. For example, 8324 is specified at 1 pC/(m/s²) and 1 Hz to 9 kHz at ±10%; these values do not apply to the whole family.
The cable forms part of the sensitive signal path. The 8324 has documented Softline and Hardline configurations with different construction and insulation; select for connection and installation conditions.
