Define machine and bearing types, measurement-point count, acceleration or velocity or displacement, frequency bands, and interfaces to plant systems.
The manufacturer describes VI-6080 for connecting protection-system buffered outputs to Compass 6000. Check the actual output type, signal level and channel configuration.
When a machine has no protection system or its existing measurement points do not provide the required information. Additional sensors can connect through a suitable acquisition interface.
Trends, time waveforms and frequency spectra provide complementary information. The manufacturer also describes event-triggered recording to retain raw signals when machine condition changes.
