These eddy-current sensors have an integrated oscillator and measure relative shaft displacement and vibration against a conductive metallic surface.
1.5 mm is the linear measuring range. The 2.4 mm range is documented with an additional 5% deviation, so it is not the same range at the same accuracy conditions.
No. The nominal −8 mV/µm value applies to 42CrMo4. Other materials have different sensitivities and require the measurement electronics to be calibrated for the target material.
It requires −18 to −30 VDC and a suitable voltage-signal input. The documented frequency band is DC to 2.6 kHz at −3 dB. Distinguish sensor power from signal voltage.
Additional conducting metal in the measurement field can distort results. Maintain the illustrated clearances from the shaft, shoulders and adjacent sensors. The specification lists IP54.
