Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions about our products and services

It is an eddy-current sensor with an integrated oscillator for relative shaft displacement and vibration against a conductive metallic surface, with a hazardous-area configuration subject to certificate conditions.

The linear range is 1.5 mm, with DC to 2.6 kHz at −3 dB. The 2.4 mm range is listed with an additional 5% measurement deviation.

Hazardous-area use requires an approved intrinsically safe circuit with a suitable barrier or interface. Check voltage, current, power, capacitance and inductance limits for the whole chain.

Yes. Chain capacitance increases with cable length. Use the documented sensor-and-cable values and check them against the approved interface; mechanical reach alone does not prove electrical compatibility.

No. The general working-temperature range is also limited by the Ex temperature class and permitted power. Select for the most restrictive application condition. Sensitivity also depends on target material.
