Answers to the most common questions about our products and services
Start with acoustic field, frequency band, sound levels and polarization. Then match the preamplifier, connection and measurement equipment to the selected cartridge.
Different cartridges target different field responses. Choose according to sound exposure, such as free-field measurement versus a cavity or coupler, and apply the appropriate corrections.
Prepolarization refers to the electric field in the cartridge. Its preamplifier still needs suitable power; an externally polarized cartridge additionally needs the specified polarization voltage.
In the documented range, smaller cartridges generally support higher frequency and sound-level limits at the expense of lower sensitivity. Final selection follows the model specification.
Use the individual calibration chart, including frequency response and cartridge data, together with the connected preamplifier and configuration information.
